Turkopodaro beach took that name because of its shape. There is a strip of sand leading to a rock that was created from a horse that slipped having a Turkish rider. The access to the beach is possible either by the sea or passing through a hotel.
At the hotel in the Turkopodaro beach you can rent sunbeds and umbrellas. Also, you can have a coffee in the bar or dining in the hotel’s restaurant. Here you can enjoy swimming and the stunning view from this peculiar beach.
Just 1.5 km from the village Fiskardo is located the cosmopolitan beach Emplisi. This small pebble beach has no winds but deep waters. The bottom is sandy, while around of the beach there are horizontal layers-stone tablets on which you can lie and enjoy sunbathing.
The access to the beach is easy, once you can reach with a car as it has a road. The beach is unorganized without umbrellas and sunbeds, so you should take care of what you need. Also, the area is suitable for camping and you can camp with your caravan.
Nine kilometers from Argostoli, within a walking distance from the airport, you are going to swim in the bay Ammes watching the planes flying overhead. The airport is located almost 1.5 km away.
Ammes beach is organized with a tourist activity which preferred for swimming not only from tourists but also from locals. Ammes has shallow waters ideal for families with children. In the area you can find coffee, food, umbrellas and sunbeds.
Klimatsias is a small beach near the village Spartia. This sandy beach is surrounded by high cliffs which make it suitable for children as it is windless.

Leaving from Sami and going towards Antisamos one will find a small bay, Palioura.
To get to this beach, you will have to pay extra attention to not miss the intersection (to your left) as you drive towards Antisamos.
It is an alternative place to swim and enjoy the sea and the peach of the scenery. If one wants, he can fish here since this bay is very popular for this exact reason and therefore one will see many fish boats there.
Just 4 km from Argostoli there are three beaches with crystal clear waters. Near the airport of the island, these beaches are preferred by a lot of tourists.
The first is a beach where you can swim comfortably and relax in the sand with your children. The other two beaches are quiet but unorganized and preferred by those who avoid the crowd.
Along the coast from Sami towards Agia Eufemia one can find several bays for swimming; first and largest of them is the beach of Agia Paraskevi.

The beach is not highly exploited like others on the island, but it is picturesque and you can enjoy a quiet swim in peace and enjoy food at beautiful small taverns.
The Koutsoupia Beach is a tropical beach and relatively unknown to the average visitor of Kefalonia.
Located in a remote spot along the coast of Poros – Sami and is accessible only by sea. If you make a day trip with from Poros or Skala, you will definitely make a stop there.
The area is suitable for snorkeling since it is relatively unspoilt.
