The natural extension of Makris Gialos is the Beach of Platis Gialos (Wide Beach).

They are separated only by a few rocks. As a result it is possible to pass from one beach to another, by either walking or swimming.
The characteristics are very similar to those of the Makris Gialos Beach.

We surely suggest you visit them both at the same day.

Dafnoudi Beach

dafnoudi1

Dafnoudi Beach is a hidden beach at the northernmost tip of Kefalonia.
Leave your car just after the junction of Antipata (there is a road sign, just before Fiskardo) and you see a path (600m) going through a cypress forest, which leads to the beach.

The beach is a haven for the monk seals Monachus Monachus. If you are lucky you may come across one. The beach is pebbly, the waters calm and the colours vary from blue to green.

In Dafnoudi you will find a cave with a small beach; perfect for most romantic couples.

Alaties Beach

alaties

Alaties Beach (Salty Beach) is a fairly hidden and thus unknown beach, located in northwest of Kefalonia.
The intersection for Alaties Beach is located on the main road from Argostoli to Fiskardo, in the settlement of Maganos.

This small beach is surrounded by cliffs, which many people use to dive into the crystal clear waters. Its name comes from the small hollows of the rocks, on which the sea salt has dried on.

The sea ground is just fabulous. Continuous diving is not recommended though, because of the strong commended sea currents.

Enjoy this wonderful beach with snacks and drinks from the nearby Tavern.

Platia Ammos Beach

plateia ammos

The Platia Ammos Beach is one of the few beaches in Kefalonia where one might not meet many people.

It’s a long sandy beach with common charecteristics of Myrtos Beach. It is located in the peninsula of Paliki, shortly after the Monastery Kipouraion.

A few years ago, the access to the beach was only possible by boat. Nowadays, a road leads to the cliffs above the beach.
The only thing blocking your way are the 400 stairs down to the beach; which of course one has to climb again back.

Note:
Visitors might not have any mobile cellphone signal.
